Will HS2 passenger train services begin before 1 January 2040?

Market resolves to YES if scheduled HS2 passenger train services commence on any section of the HS2 network before 1 January 2040. In May 2026 the transport secretary announced trains may not run until 2036–2039 and costs could reach £102.7bn. A government press release, HS2 Ltd operational notice, or ORR confirmation of timetabled passenger services is sufficient. Test trains or construction milestones alone resolve NO.
