Will the BoE hike rates on 17 September?

Next MPC decision: hike versus another hold at 3.75%.

How this resolves

Market resolves to YES if the Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee announces an increase in the official Bank Rate at its meeting ending 17 September 2026. Bank Rate has been held at 3.75% since December 2025 (held again in April, June and July 2026). Three MPC members voted for a hike in July, citing second-round effects from Middle East energy prices. A hold or a cut resolves NO. Resolution is based solely on the MPC Summary published at 12pm on 17 September 2026. Source: bankofengland.co.uk/monetary-policy.
